Nippon Express Opts for Continuity and Future-Proofing When Replacing Over 100 Honeywell Terminals

The question

For the large-scale replacement of Honeywell handheld terminals, Nippon Express (NX Group) was looking not only for a sustainable solution, but also for a long-term partner. With the replacement scheduled to begin in early 2026, the company therefore made a conscious decision to prioritize continuity in hardware, software, and device management.

The Solution

As a trusted IT partner within the logistics operation, DatAction has worked with Nippon Express to implement a future-proof solution. The following were selected:

  • the deployment of more than 100 Honeywell ultra-rugged, high-performance CK67 handhelds as the logical successor to the CK65, suitable for demanding warehouse and distribution environments
  • StayLinked serves as the standard for reliable terminal emulation on AS/400. This also allows Nippon Express to maintain the desired flexibility without compromising on functionality.
  • Support for the coming years through the DatAction maintenance packages. This minimizes operational downtime.

The result

By building on the existing hardware and software infrastructure, the impact of the upgrade was kept to a minimum. At the same time, we opted for a solution that is future-proof. The final deployment was successfully completed last month. Thank you to the Nippon Express team for their trust and pleasant collaboration.
